 In her book "Radical Remission", Dr. Laura Turner states that we all have the ability to tap into the natural resources within us to not only heal our body but prevent disease.

Her groundbreaking study of stage 4 cancer survivors identified 9 factors that the survivors utilized to overcome their disease.

The MOST important factor, whether you have cancer or not, is to do whatever it takes to prevent it (or prevent its recurrence) in the first place. We have moved so far away from "prevention" that we have become complacent in what we eat, how our food is prepared, how we manage our relationship with ourselves and others, and how we manage our stress.

One of the 9 things Dr. Turner identified in her work was the importance of nutrition. We need to be mindful of our food choices and remove or at least reduce foods that are processed and focus on a more plant-based diet.

A simple change you can make today is to look at your diet and resolve to eat more plants every day and less processed foods. Shop the perimeter of your grocery store where your products and fresh foods are kept and stay out of the aisles where so-called "foods" are contained in boxes, bags, and cans. Also, be mindful of ingredient labels, if aren't sure of an ingredient or the list is very long, it's probably not the best choice.
